RWBY - Emerald Sustrai Trial & Error Worklog Part 2

I know it's been quite a long while since I wrote the first part of this worklog. I've mellowed out a bit in the cosplay scene and decided to just take my sweet time every time I start a new project so I wouldn't be stressed and sleep deprived every upcoming convention.

For now, I'm wrapping up this worklog before starting a brand new project.

RWBY - Emerald Sustrai Trial & Error Worklog Part 1

I was planning on writing about this worklog after a proper photoshoot but I guess it won't be happening anytime soon and I needed to post something new on my blog since I've been away for too long.

This isn't going to be a proper worklog tutorial though because the entire process is a messy series of trial and errors so it'll mostly be a series of progress photos. But I'll try to explain some of it as much as I can. Also, I'll be splitting this into two parts because if I don't, this post is going to be really long and photo-heavy.

Yang Xiao Long Post-Timeskip Full Cosplay Worklog

It's been long overdue but we're finally on the final part of this worklog! It wasn't easy, everything looks so complex and advance I couldn't even imagine how I'm going to go through with this but I did it and it turned out great! This project has been my favorite so far and I'm really proud of it.

Yang Xiao Long Post-Timeskip Prosthetic Arm Prop Worklog / Tutorial

This is my first time making a prosthetic type of prop in cosplay so the entire process is a little bit of a trial and error for me. There are a lot of things I could have changed to make it better but I am still very pleased with how it turned out.

This will be the start of my Yang Xiao Long Post-Timeskip cosplay worklog series. I'll be posting the entire costume worklog soon.

Materials:

• Pattern paper (or any paper you can use to draw patterns)
• Form-fitting gloves (or you can make one yourself with a black stretch fabric)
• Cling wrap
• Masking/Duct tape
• 2mm Rubber Sheet/Craft foam (we mostly call it rubber sheets here so I'm going with that term)
• Super Glue
• Crack filler/Sealant
• Primer (I used wood glue mixed with water in 1:1/8 glue-water ratio)
• Spray Paint (or whatever you prefer)
• Metallic Gray (I know I used black here which was a mistake. I didn't double check my references when I went buying for materials)
• Yellow
• Velcro
• 0.5 cm elastic garter

JJBA Yukako Yamagishi Seifuku Worklog/Tutorial

Wrapping up my last cosplay of 2017 with something simple, Yukako Yamagishi from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable.

There should be a lot of seifuku tutorials out there in the internet and I feel like there's a general conventional method in making it but I had a hard time following some of the tutorials I found online. I did find one really helpful seifuku tutorial that served as my starting point. However, it wasn't entirely complete so I used a basic bodice and sleeve tutorial as the main guide. You should really watch those videos first if you want to go through with this tutorial.

Hoshizora Rin Little Devil Ver. Complete Cosplay Worklog

Finally! The fourth and final part of my Little Devil Rin cosplay project. Oh boy, this costume has been the most time-consuming and detailed project I've done so far I don't even know where to start so I apologize for posting this way behind my planned scheduled. I had a hard time mapping out the structure on how this entire post should go.

When I first decided to make this project, I'm actually at a loss on how I'm going to put them together. It didn't help that there were only one official reference photo and not enough cosplay shots.

But I had fun experimenting new techniques, tinkering details and adding a few personal touches based on how I interpreted the entire thing. I'm quite proud with how this project turned out.

Asami Sato Default Outfit Worklog / Tutorial

First of all, I made a big mistake of sewing the buttons on the wrong side. I looked at the reference photo and forgot to consider that it was a mirror image. I didn't have enough time and resources to do the entire thing again so I just pushed forward. With that in mind, here's my Asami Sato cosplay worklog and hopefully none would make the same mistake as I did if ever anyone decided to follow through with this. *kicks self*

Yang Xiao Long - RWBY Cosplay Worklog

This has been long overdue. I've been meaning to post this earlier but I've been pretty distracted with a lot of stuff. Yang has been the most complicated costume I've made so far with it's many pieces and intricate design. I had to learn a lot of new skills along the way but it had been quite a learning journey and I feel really achieved being able to complete this project.

Non-stretch boot cover tutorial / worklog

Another boot cover for my Yang Xiao Long Cosplay. I actually intended to buy a pair from a bargain shop but I couldn't find anything close and cheap enough so it's time for another DIY project.

Materials:

• a pair of non-wedge, heeled shoes(non heeled shoes will work as well but this tutorial will be working on a heeled one)
• socks
• non-stretch fabric
• interfacing
• 2 separating zippers
• snap buttons(the one where you can sew in)

KK - Kekkai Sensen - Cosplay Worklog

Costume breakdown of the very first cosplay I finished this year. Biggest outfit I made to date and despite a handful of mistakes, I'm happy how good they turned out. No decent photos yet but might schedule a photoshoot sometime this year as soon as i find the time to do revisions on some parts of this costume.
[UPDATE 08/10/16]: Wore the outfit for the second time and finally had some nice shots.

Chiyuki - Death Parade - Cosplay Worklog

Chiyuki was one of the easiest and most comfortable cosplay I ever did. It looks no big deal but it was the very first full costume that I made from scratch all on my own. It has been a huge cosplay leap for me since then and despite the many embarrassing mistakes and crooked stitches I made along the way, it was one of the proudest moment of my cosplay life.

Hoshizora Rin Love Live No Brand Girls Cosplay Breakdown and Progress Shots

Not exactly a complete tutorial but made a costume breakdown of my recent Love Live cosplay. I'm still a complete amateur when it comes to the sewing department so most of them are a result of multiple trial and errors but hopefully it will inspire ideas for other cosplayers who are thinking of cosplaying the same character or something similar.
