JJBA Yukako Yamagishi Seifuku Worklog/Tutorial

Wrapping up my last cosplay of 2017 with something simple, Yukako Yamagishi from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable.

There should be a lot of seifuku tutorials out there in the internet and I feel like there's a general conventional method in making it but I had a hard time following some of the tutorials I found online. I did find one really helpful seifuku tutorial that served as my starting point. However, it wasn't entirely complete so I used a basic bodice and sleeve tutorial as the main guide. You should really watch those videos first if you want to go through with this tutorial.

Iinchou at Ai Expo 2017 Day 2

Second day of Ai Expo and I finally have the opportunity to debut my devil!Rin cosplay that I've been working on for a really long time.

It's quite an eventful day. My friends and I started out early so I ended up wearing my costume for more than seven hours. It was the longest time I've ever worn a cosplay to date and I'm surprised that nothing fell apart or got broken despite the many pieces of my costume and the con crowd I had to squeeze through. I even brought super glue, fabric glue, some threads and a needle because the costume really looks delicate but I'm happy I didn't have the need to use them.

Iinchou at Ai Expo 2017 Day 1

AI Expo or Anijou Iloilo Expo is an annual 2-day local hobby convention here in Iloilo City that focuses on arts, gaming and cosplay. The event took place last September 16-17 and I'm a little late with my posts because of organizing the devil!Rin worklog and getting too caught up in #inktober.

I'm going to make this a 2-part post, just so I can easily organize and separate my thoughts for each day.

Hoshizora Rin Little Devil Ver. Complete Cosplay Worklog

Left: Photo by Chloe | Right: Photo by H&S Studio Co.

Finally! The fourth and final part of my Little Devil Rin cosplay project. Oh boy, this costume has been the most time-consuming and detailed project I've done so far I don't even know where to start so I apologize for posting this way behind my planned scheduled. I had a hard time mapping out the structure on how this entire post should go.

When I first decided to make this project, I'm actually at a loss on how I'm going to put them together. It didn't help that there were only one official reference photo and not enough cosplay shots.

But I had fun experimenting new techniques, tinkering details and adding a few personal touches based on how I interpreted the entire thing. I'm quite proud with how this project turned out.

Hello Brrr-months & Life Updates

We're only about four months away to 2018 (let that sink in) and I haven't even gone halfway through my cosplay list. There hasn't been any conventions here lately so my motivation's been down in the dumps. I have a lot of ideas to write for this blog all piled up but my brain seems to be refusing to cooperate..

I'm just drifting along the flow right now but I'm still trying to stay right on track. Even though I've been pretty slow and behind schedule, I make sure I'm still making progress.

Why Do You Cosplay?

I have asked myself this question before when I first established this blog back in 2015. It was suppose to be my starting post but I can never seem to put them into words properly. A year or so later and the question popped up again while I was scrolling through my timeline. I grew up a bit since then and I was able to finally write how I really feel about it.

Hoshizora Rin Little Devil Wings DIY Tutorial

It took me three tries to finally make it look like how I envisioned it. It's not exactly big but it still takes up quite space so I wanted to make it travel/storage easy by making it in pieces that can be put together and apart when not in use.

This is the second part of my Hoshizora Rin Little Devil ver. cosplay project. For the complete worklog, you can check out this post.

Materials:
  • 2mm Rubber sheet/ craft foam
  • Thin wire
  • Masking tape
  • Black & Pink (wasn't available so I had to mix red & white in equal parts) paint
  • Elastics (preferably black. Unfortunately I used white because I ran out because of too many mistakes)
  • Fabric (color & type is up to you as long as it's not stretchy)
  • Thick & sturdy cardboard
  • Snap buttons
  • Velcro
  • Feather lace (optional)
  • Tissue

Tools:
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Hot glue, Super Glue (or any strong adhesive), Plain white glue (for priming)
  • Thread & needle
  • Pattern paper (or any paper to sketch the pattern)
  • Sandpaper

I'm thirsty af.

Recently, I've been busy with my Hoshizora Rin Little Devil cosplay project that I was planning on wearing at a Cosplay Cafe event hosted by a university organization which I'm also a part of. Although I'm already an alumni, I still love being involved with the org and helping my kohais.

New Year, Late Updates: Thoughts & 2017 Projects

2016 Cosplays

I've been so wrapped up with the holiday season and cuddle weather that I've gotten pretty late with my 2017 cosplay updates. Last year has been chaotic... and colorful.

Cosplay have always been my outlet so I always make sure to keep this hobby alive no matter how much I struggle for it (it keeps my state of mind peaceful and balanced). Given my circumstances, it's not always easy but thankfully, I once again managed to pull through and learned a lot of things along the way. My costume-making skills definitely upped a level and I'm excited to find out what more I can do this year.

I also finally laid out my cosplay plans for 2017. It's going to be even more challenging but I'm looking forward to get my hands working. My Rin is already in progress and Emerald is due for June. The rest will depend on time and financial resources. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to what I can accomplish this year.

Good vibes, good vibes, :)
